We are a non-profit organisation of lawyers and paralegals committed to the protection and enforcement of the rights and dignity of LGBTQI persons, people living with HIV, women, and girls in Nigeria. We offer legal representation to marginalized people facing various challenges, such as discrimination, violence, wrongful arrests, and human rights violations based on their sexual orientation and gender identity.
Minority Watch also uses strategic litigation and advocacy to bring about legal and policy reforms, working with government institutions, lawmakers, and human rights organizations to repeal discriminatory laws, implement inclusive policies, and develop legal frameworks that protect and empower LGBTQI persons, people living with HIV, women, and girls in Nigeria.
Established in 2022
Minority Watch was founded in 2022, and since then, we have been steadfastly working towards our vision of a more equal and just Nigeria.
OUR VISION
A society where everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or HIV status can live free from violence and discrimination.
